The Pocha family was getting tired of their circa 1970's built home and they were looking to make a change. Our designer, Tiffany visited their home and after discussing their ideas and lifestyle, she recommended they look at removing the wall separating their kitchen from their living room and incorporate a large island in its place. The couple agreed with Tiffany's recommendation and got to work removing the wall.
The wall removal allowed the family to better utilize their space for entertaining. The large island is a focal point and is great for gathering around with friends or spreading out a buffet style dinner. It also greatly increases the sitting options and with the kitchen, living room and dining area all open to each other the rooms feel larger.
Removing walls that separates small spaces is great for so many reasons but one of the things we hear most from clients who do this is how much brighter and more vibrant their home becomes. One of the biggest benefits is having more windows to flood the space with sunlight, allowing all rooms to stay bright throughout the day.
