Our senior design team closely worked with New Dawn Developments and their client to design this custom private residence and ensure that every detail was cared for. Our team provided all the custom woodwork and installation for the kitchen, laundry and mudroom.
The black walnut was selected because of its rich color and unique grain. The design features a custom arched bulk head over the fridge and range and has a matching ladder to reach the hidden cabinets above, completed with press-to-open hardware.
The island features custom curves that follow the same aesthetics as the bulk head. The butcher block top was made by hand and the panels around the front are additional hidden compartments completed with press-to-open hardware. The granite countertops on the raised eating bar waterfalls down to flow into the granite circle tiles, custom designed as well.
This kitchen was evaluated as part of Gipman's AWMAC certification process and was featured in the Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada BC Benchmark Magazine in Spring 2016.
